QR code is the most familiar with everyone, in day to day life we are using this QR code for making payment at supermarket, accessing the information, websites, coupon,tickets etc. The mechanism behind the QR code is very interesting.
QR code is first designed for automotive industry in Japan in 1994 by Denso Wave. This code is the 2D version of the barcode, the barcode is the optical label which is machine readable.
It consist of the black squares on the white background arranged in grid. The structure of the QR code is given below.
1.Position Pattern
The pattern which placed at the corners of the code except the left bottom. It defines the location of the code to scan process by the device and recognition of the data.
2.version information
The area which defines the number of version, It is directly connected with their dimensions and the data is to be encode.
3.Timing Pattern
The line of alternative white and black squares it situated between three position patterns, which defines the density of the modules.
4.Format information
The area which helps to the scanning device to determine the data format which is encoded in the QR code. This information may be the website link, date, contact information, etc.
5.Alignment Pattern
Alignment pattern may be various patterns according to the QR code version, they allow the scanning device to identify the perspective distortion of the image means QR code.
